Hello, I am Cako.
Now that is not the name you will find on my birth certificate, but they
had not asked my 23 month old sister, when they filled that out. She climbed up into the crib to have a look at me. She was
good at that because it used to be hers. She climbed on in and curled around me, patting me and when they told her my name
was Carol, she said "Cako!" And so I became Cako, and when I could talk I named Violet, Vido. We developed a language that
only the two of us shared. We were very good friends for 40 years, and always knew what each other were talking about.
I
named this web site Cako's Corral because I have so many varied interests in my life, it seemed a good thing to find someplace
to try and collect it all within a perimeter.
First of all I love Jesus, and am so grateful that he died on the cross
to save me from my sins. Not because I deserved it, but because he loves me. I plan to be in Heaven with Him. I want to do
all that I can to help others understand and know the peace that comes from accepting salvation.
My husband George
is a kind and generous man, who has given his heart to Jesus. He is also talented, and has created many designs in fiberglass.
Anyone who reads this has no doubt seen some result of at least one of his designs. Many of you have ridden in a golf cart,
bathed in a tub or shower, slept in a camper or seen an ambulance that his hands created the radiances of. His favorite pastime
is flying small aircraft. He hopes to one day become a "Flying Angel" who will fly sick people who can not afford transportation,
to receive the medical attention they need.
My family is large. I was married once before for 9 years. I gave birth
to three sons. After a divorce and being alone 2 years, I married my husband and became step-mother to 3 more children. When
these 6 children left home within a short time of each other, I got empty nest syndrome. We cured that by adopting a little
girl and 4 years later, her biological little brother. Some of our children have blessed us with grandchildren. My sister
Vido passed away, after asking me to stand in as mother and grandmother for her. She had one son, who now has 2 sons. With
9 children and 6 grandchildren (so far) I can surely say, "My quiver is full".
Now to list the interests: I love to
sing, it is one of my greatest pleasures. I used to sing a lot in groups, sometimes even alone. The love of beauty in nature
was given to me by my parents. I enjoy gardening. Writing poetry and songs about human emotion and inspiration is one of my
secret hobbies. I own a pair of beautiful Saint Bernards (my favorite breed) which I love, play with and train. I plan to
raise one litter of them a year. My husband has a pair of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels (his favorite breed) which he cuddles
with, sleeps with, watches TV with, (until I get a bit jealous!) They will produce little ones too! George built me a workshop
with ceiling windows, in which to practice various art forms such as drawing, carving and intarsia. I take pictures, especially
of people with pets. We love to travel. All babies are wonderful, but grandbabies are the best!
By now you have a
pretty good idea of what I am about. The following pages will reveal more about my various interests! (When they have been
completed!)
Thanks for taking the time to know me.
